This story is said to have happened on Christmas Eve 1944. This somewhat different Christmas story clearly shows that people do not want wars. They must be provoked from outside. Source.

I came across several similar stories. For example, a football match between French and German soldiers during the Christmas Truce in World War I. I wrote about this in the article War, who wants that?

We are all members of one big family – we are human beings. Wars divide people between themselves and their enemies, only to kill each other even though they don’t know each other at all. A war in which you murder another human being simply because he speaks a different language than you, even though he is a victim of a fraud just like you, an armed victim, and is sent to the front. Driven by the media, which always creates new divisions and describes atrocities, but only those committed or not by this blackly described enemy. You’re one of the good ones. However, on the other side of the front there is the same propaganda that describes you as a cruel enemy who only deserves death.

There are no good or bad nations, but there are hypocritical politicians. They themselves will never fight, but they willingly use heroes who have returned dead to celebrate the martyrdom of those fighting for a “just cause”. To present themselves to voters as great patriots, to act at funeral ceremonies and to attract new votes of “true patriots”.

Bankers are also supporters of the war, often lending huge sums of money to both parties to the conflict. If one side wins, it brings huge profits. The loser also has to repay the loans with interest.

Thanks to European economic sanctions, Russia will achieve a 7% increase in oil exports in 2023. And here in Western Europe we like to freeze to annoy Putin…

Christmas Eve.
The day when people try to speak with a human voice.
