The ceasefire in the Persian Gulf will go back into effect, provided the Israeli president can reach an agreement with the U.S. president on this issue. If they fail to reach an agreement, we’ll be treated to a grand speech by Trump in which he announces that Iran is begging him to end hostilities and that he is showing mercy for humanitarian reasons. Why? Because in three and a half months, the U.S. will hold elections for both chambers of Congress—the so-called midterm elections. Before that, on October 27, Israel will hold presidential elections.
I know many of you believe that elections would be banned if they actually changed anything. I agree with the assertion that elections are a theatrical charade that exploits the base motives of voters who are hungry for “campaign promises,” but surely no one will dispute that Trump’s election changed a great deal in the world. You’ll say: Sure—he attacked Iran, is constantly arming Ukraine, has unleashed a circus with tariffs, and lies as if he actually believes this nonsense himself. He lies because he’s a politician—that probably explains his behavior, although I could name many politicians who lie more intelligently.

We learn how the Iranian side describes the current escalation in an article published today on presstv.co.uk: Iran Army targets US military facilities in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain in retaliatory operations.
The Iranian Army said that, in the 15th phase of the operation, it targeted aircraft shelters, aircraft parking areas, fuel storage facilities at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, as well as several strategic bridges, using attack drones. It described Sheikh Isa Air Base as one of the most important operational and logistical centers supporting US air and naval forces in the region, noting that it serves as a key base for US military operations against regional targets, particularly Iran.

“John Kennedy was a great guy, good-looking. They say he was the second-best-looking president of the United States.”
Just don’t ask him who’s number one. Don’t ask who tops that list. Don’t even think about it!
