Trump’s ill-considered decision to attack Iran under pressure from a friend of the terrorist has given the world a great gift. It has shown how this declining superpower can be defeated by spending only a fraction of the sum comparable to the wasteful US military budget. Iran does not need to send soldiers to the front to win this war. Because there is no front, and there will be none. It is enough for it to persistently continue its tactics, which in the coming days will lead to the collapse of air defenses in the war zone, especially in Israel.

China already knows how to recapture Taiwan. A few hundred drones will disable any American air defense system. The same applies to North Korea. Eighty years of European geopolitics based on the false belief in the effectiveness of the American protective shield complete the picture of a naive policy pursued by countries that will go down with their big brother. No one needs to attack Europe—it can destroy itself.

Iran has not yet fired a single hypersonic missile, against which there is no protection. So why hasn’t it sunk any American aircraft carriers yet? To keep this option open. It is not a good strategy to show your opponent all your options. And Iran is using the best and most effective method to defeat its opponent.

An invasion? The United States would need more soldiers than it sent to Iraq in 2003, at least a million. Let’s take a look at what the average US citizen looks like.

Zagros is the name of the mountain range that such a soldier would have to cross in order to penetrate deep into Iran. It is about 1,600 km long and 200–300 km wide. The highest peak is Zard Kuh at 4,548 m above sea level. How many years of training would a resident of Dakota, California, or Utah have to complete before they would be able to perform even a simple task?

Well, all joking aside, the US has over 1.34 million soldiers on active duty. A large proportion of them are highly trained. Do you see any way of gathering a large number of soldiers near Iran without them being at risk of being fired at by Iranian missiles?

The days when soldiers could perform heroic deeds on the front lines are long gone. Most of them will never see an enemy before they die. They will be torn apart by bullets and missiles fired from several kilometers away or from drones.

The dream of security, protected by the myth of US power, dreamed by politicians who fail to perceive the radical changes in the world, is a dangerous hypnosis. The consequences of such unconditional belief that they will protect us will be dangerous. The dramatic awakening of the Persian Gulf countries should be a warning to the naive supporters of the American protective shield. This protective shield does indeed exist, but its only real part is a spear that pierces the bubble of trust in the myth that some country will defend those who naively hope for help without doing much themselves to strengthen their own defensive capabilities.

After all, international law and treaties have no value for Trump. For him, the only thing that counts is the power that everyone except Iran and two world powers fear, without checking whether it is not a bluff.

What can we do when we realize how close we have come to a point where there is no longer a good solution and the world is threatened with total destruction? Above all, we must not allow ourselves to be intimidated. I know that’s not easy, but what good does panic do us? It would reduce our lives to a level where they are no longer really worth living. Each of us must die at some point. Fear of death is a natural human reflex. However, living in constant fear is a nightmare we impose on ourselves.

If I could, I would destroy all the red buttons so that they could no longer be used. Since I cannot do that, all I can do is enjoy life while I have it. This is precisely how we contribute to our own unhappiness, by tormenting ourselves and others with fears that do not counteract any potential evil. For example, I have a suggestion for the Lego company on how it can make money by manufacturing products that reflect reality, instead of complaining.
