You were woken up by the shrill ringing of your cell phone. Who on earth would be calling at such an ungodly hour? Oh, it’s the alarm you set on your phone for Monday through Friday to get you out of bed. Just yesterday, you were bragging to your friends that your phone’s alarm automatically recognizes holidays and LETS YOU sleep in.

The generation of slaves who take pride in the fact that their device—the smartphone—meets the highest technical standards has recently surpassed the 4.5-billion mark worldwide, all of whom obediently follow the commands of their own, expensively purchased devices.

The form of slavery is merely a reflection of technological progress.

Billions of people carry their smartphones with them practically around the clock – leaving a trail throughout their entire lives. Data brokers have been collecting and selling such location information for years as a supposedly anonymous commodity. Swiss researchers have now shown just how little “anonymity” actually exists: On average, an AI needed only 17 minutes and $2.24 to identify a specific person from location data. From an article published yesterday on Report24.news: The transparent citizen is already a reality: AI cracks “anonymous” location data for $2.24. Source.

For your cell phone to wake you up, you have to keep it in your bedroom; otherwise, you won’t hear the alarm. So it’s not just a witness to your sleep, but also to other situations in your bedroom. Don’t worry—you don’t have to fear that a video clip recorded by your phone containing racy details will end up on the internet. At most, the phone might show the ceiling, since it’s usually lying flat on a nightstand nearby. The only possibility is that the sounds of your bedroom activities might be recorded. However, this monitoring isn’t intended to publish such scenes.

Long gone are the days when a group of grumpy guys in dark sunglasses would rent an apartment nearby to stay within range of the listening devices hidden in a lamp in the target’s home. You see that in older movies. Today’s surveillance exploits your naivety and convenience. It’s much more effective because it’s based on tacit consent. It’s just so convenient! Paying with your cell phone, every piece of information—no matter how ridiculous—at your fingertips. Heat warnings for temperatures above 20 °C. Warnings about Putin. Fear and panic—you get all of that for free on your cell phone.

Live in such a way that you do not become a slave to our times!

When I leave the house, I leave my cell phone at home. The world really doesn’t come to an end if no one calls me during that time. I decide for myself what I want to buy and what information I consider important. That’s why I’m not interested in advertising or the fear-mongering that’s being spread by every means possible. Aren’t I already being warned about the end of the world? I’ve already been to the end of the world.
