Many expected that Iran would go the way of Iraq, Libya, and Syria upon the start of the Third Gulf War, which is why the outcome of this conflict can be described as the upset of the century. Iran didn’t destroy Israel like it’s long threatened to do, nor did it sink any US ships like its media surrogates hyped supporters up to expect, but both – and especially Israel – were left badly battered.
This is how Andrzej Korybko – an American political analyst living in Moscow who specialises in the global transition to a multipolar system – begins his Tuesday article on korybko.substack.com: Here’s How Iran Pulled Off The Upset Of The Century.
The five points outlined in this analysis provide an excellent summary of Iran’s astute military-political strategy. Yesterday, at the conclusion of the G7 summit in Evian, France, Trump told reporters: Our [oil] reserves will be depleted in about four weeks. I have described Iran’s strategy as “excellent” because it has proven to be extraordinarily effective in the fight against aggressors.

The unconditional surrender of the U.S. to Iran. That is how I would describe the way the situation in this conflict is unfolding.
The anti-Netanyahu camp is neither politically nor ideologically coherent. Its only real point of convergence is the desire to end his rule. With the upcoming elections in September, this convergence threatens to become a trap—one that could reshape alliances in ways that extend beyond the election itself. Source.
The biggest loser in this war, alongside the European Union, is Israel. It was the driving force behind this war, but now finds itself empty-handed and complaining that the U.S. has abandoned it. The United States has been abandoning its former allies for many years now, depending on the demands of current politics. Now it is Israel’s turn—a country that has waged its wars of expansion and genocide based on its aggressive policies, which relied on U.S. power.

Politicians are playing at war without caring about the victims. For Netanyahu, the only thing that matters is his delusional mission as the Messiah of destruction. And that will be the destruction of Israel as a state. Is Trump waging a war against Iran at Israel’s expense? I don’t know, but we’ll find out a lot more in the near future when Israeli F-35 fighter jets can no longer take off due to the U.S. blockade. Dreaming is a beautiful thing.

Some commentators claim that this is a strategy by Donald Trump intended to put an end to the influence of the Israeli lobby in the U.S. Congress. That is possible, but it is not necessarily true. On the one hand, without U.S. support, Israel faces a political and military catastrophe; on the other hand, the United States’ traditional alliance with Israeli policy is deeply rooted among members of Congress who receive donations from AIPAC. Time will tell in which direction this situation will develop. The political climate in the U.S. is very unfavorable for Israel.

Conservative U.S. commentator Tucker Carlson claims that the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States marks a historic turning point, and emphasizes that Washington’s inability to impose its will on Tehran signals the beginning of the end of the American empire. In my opinion, the end of the American empire was sealed the moment the U.S. national debt exceeded the point at which it could actually be paid off.
I know this isn’t an interesting topic for many of you, but the situation into which the U.S. has been driven by the policies of the past decades is catastrophic. This country is on the brink of bankruptcy. Through its own fault.
