On January 11, 2024, Blinne Ní Ghrâlaigh, Crown Counsel (KC), delivered the closing arguments on behalf of the Republic of South Africa in the case against Israel before the International Court of Justice.
The arguments presented accurately describe the dire situation of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. As was to be expected, Israel ignored the International Court of Justice’s ruling. The ruthless genocide against the population of the territories occupied by the terrorist state of Israel, the murder of humanitarian workers providing aid to the Palestinians, and the killing of journalists who are conveying to the world the truth about the systematic genocide of the Palestinian people have not been stopped.
Palestinian authorities estimate that the remains of more than 8,000 individuals have not yet been recovered and continue to be buried beneath the rubble.
On September 6, the Palestinian Center for Missing and Forcibly Disappeared Persons again articulated profound apprehension and vigorous denunciation regarding systematic Israeli activities to dismantle and remove debris from devastated residential areas. It cautioned that the initiative constitutes an intentional effort to eliminate the forensic evidence required to determine the fate of missing Palestinians.

Moving scenes following the discovery of the body of a Palestinian infant amid the rubble of a building where displaced Palestinians had been living, which had collapsed in the Al-Sinaa neighborhood in the western part of Gaza City.

Scenes like these are the reason for the radicalization of an inherently peaceful Islamic community. Guess who is stoking these emotions, and who stands to gain from religious divisions and the creation of an atmosphere of terror? I have no intention of justifying Islamic radicals, but I would like to point out the causes of such attitudes.
The United States supplies these weapons, and Israel uses them in attacks on Palestinians.

The arms industry, which manufactures instruments of death, bears shared responsibility for these crimes. A powerful lobby—a term coined to avoid the real name: corruption—influences politicians to instigate ever-new wars and thereby create new markets for the industry of death.

When the American rapper Macklemore called for “Freedom for Palestine” on a tour organized by the pro-Israel Ed Sheeran, a classic campaign began in which this rapper was bombarded with the long-worn-out accusation of anti-Semitism. What happened next?
Similar trends can be observed in the current U.S. election campaign. Particularly within the Democratic Party, there is a noticeable tendency to reject candidates who accept bribes from the Israeli lobby—AIPAC.
