Many of us wonder what real power the President of the United States actually has. Is he, as he calls himself, the most powerful man in the world, or is he caught up in the machinations of oligarchs who are constantly plotting conspiracies? Or is he perhaps being blackmailed by the United States’ greatest ally? Are the President’s decisions, especially those concerning war, the result of his inflated ego, or is he perhaps pursuing a diabolical plan to play his magnificent “cards” made in China?

Donald Trump’s most successful moves are the stock market speculations of his closest confidants. If his chaotic statements and their direction are known in advance to those who have amassed their wealth through dishonest means, what’s stopping them from betting on rising—or, depending on the president’s capricious intentions, falling—oil stocks? This is a way to “make” a huge amount of money.

On May 27, 2026, an article was published on rutherford.org: The Permanent War Government: Who’s Really Calling the Shots in Washington?

The Constitution was supposed to keep power on a short leash. Congress was supposed to declare war, control the purse strings, restrain the executive and answer to the people. The president was supposed to execute the laws, not rule by decree, wage undeclared wars, or serve as front man for an empire. The courts were supposed to serve as a check against government abuse, not rubber-stamp the national security state’s worst excesses.

Every modern president has inherited the same war powers, the same secret agencies, the same emergency apparatus, the same surveillance systems, the same defense contractors, the same militarized police forces, and the same bipartisan addiction to power without accountability. Trump didn’t create the permanent war government. He inherited it, fed it, enlarged it, weaponized it and, like every president before him, became its salesman.

If Trump were to lose the 2024 election, instead of a pompous, self-centered narcissist, we would have a mindless executor of every directive from the Deep State. Including a war in Iran. Migrants would be welcomed into the U.S. with open arms, the number of genders would multiply many times over, and a tax on the oxygen in the air would likely be introduced as well.

I do not wish to justify Trump, but merely to point out that while he has introduced his own style, called “Trumpism,” which is based on unpredictability and the breaking of all traditions that supposedly form the foundation of conservatism, the most important geopolitical decisions are not necessarily made in the White House. I would call this unknown house, where war plans are forged, the “black house” because of the intentions behind these decisions. It need not be located on U.S. soil at all.
