You probably feel the same way: When someone suggests reading a post by Trump on his Truthsocial.com, it makes you feel sick. At least, that’s how I feel. But if I want to compare what both sides are saying on the same topic, I have to sit through it. Shortly after midnight today, the U.S. president wrote the following:
Three World Class American Destroyers just transited, very successfully, out of the Strait of Hormuz, under fire. There was no damage done to the three Destroyers, but great damage done to the Iranian attackers.
They were completely destroyed along with numerous small boats, which are being used to take the place of their fully decapitated Navy. These boats went to the bottom of the Sea, quickly and efficiently. Missiles were shot at our Destroyers, and were easily knocked down. Likewise, drones came, and were incinerated while in the air.
They dropped ever so beautifully down to the Ocean, very much like a butterfly dropping to its grave! A normal Country would have allowed these Destroyers to pass, but Iran is not a normal Country.
They are led by LUNATICS, and if they had the chance to use a Nuclear Weapon, they would do it, without question.
But they’ll never have that opportunity and, just like we knocked them out again today, we’ll knock them out a lot harder, and a lot more violently, in the future, if they don’t get their Deal signed, FAST! Our three Destroyers, with their wonderful Crews, will now rejoin our Naval Blockade, which is truly a “Wall of Steel.” President DONALD J. TRUMP. Source.

It is worth asking the following question: Why, then, do these “world-class destroyers” not ensure unimpeded shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz? We find the answer to this question in the Iranian account of the same incident, which was published in an article on presstv.ir: US destroyers flee Strait of Hormuz after massive Iranian missile and drone barrage: IRGC Navy.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy says its forces inflicted significant damage on US naval assets in a large-scale combined operation on Thursday evening, forcing three American destroyers to flee the Strait of Hormuz.

As in any war, both sides glorify the exploits of their own forces while portraying the enemy’s defeat as undeniable. Trump supporters will highlight the U.S. Navy’s great success and the Iranians’ latest losses. Those on Iran’s side are convinced that it was Iran that dealt a defeat to the American destroyers. Both sides claim that the enemy is spreading propaganda, without recognizing their own. Of course, both sides engage in propaganda. In this conflict, however, there is only one side that makes things up and presents its own desires as facts. Guess which one that might be?

Sometimes age comes on its own. Oscar Wilde.
Propaganda is the practice of presenting one’s own desires as facts. It often happens that the propagandist comes to believe his own lies. It is precisely then that the unrealistic nature of a narcissistic politician’s worldview becomes clear—a politician who has no qualms about expressing several different opinions on the same topic in the course of a single day. His policies lack well-thought-out strategic steps. We see only attempts to extricate himself from the dead end into which he has maneuvered himself or into which he has been pushed.
