The main goal of the European-led call for a ceasefire seems to be to give an exhausted Ukraine a chance to rearm and reorganize its armed forces so that it can continue fighting for another year or more. Putin is obviously well aware of this.
French President Macron is probably in the habit of removing from in front of camera lenses objects that disrupt his favorable image as a statesman. Two years ago, I showed on this blog (article: Paris on Fire) a video of him hiding a watch worth 80,000 euros. At the time, he argued for the need to raise the retirement age. It speaks well of him that he is aware of the effects these items can have.
Journalism is an ugly profession. I count myself among them and admit that in our pursuit of sensationalism we are capable of destroying the careers of great politicians. They fight for our freedom, supply the Kiev Nazis with the weapons they need to keep the peace, and they cling to some coke from the iron reserves of a brave fighter for Ukraine’s right to fascism!
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is probably glad that he didn’t travel on this train and wasn’t caught by journalists like his colleagues. He probably had a secret peace mission to fulfill.
Who will they send to Kiev this time to torpedo the cheeky peace talks?
