This is not the first time that the CIA has staged “social protests” to overthrow a government hostile to the US. These spectacular revolutions are always preceded by a thorough analysis of public opinion. Any signs of discontent, of which there are always plenty, are exploited. The population is then incited with the help of propaganda. The revolution itself is usually bloody, as was the case in Ukraine in 2014, where the CIA successfully overthrew the pro-Russian government of Viktor Yanukovych.
Apparently, this tactic has not yielded the expected results in Iran, where bloody protests by “angry people” have been going on for over a week.

Iran is not the opposite of the West. It is the result of Western coups, oil wars, and regime change, from Mossadegh to Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

After the arrest of a large number of demonstrators, it turned out that they were poor Afghans who were easily bribed by Western intelligence agencies.

The Iranian authorities were unimpressed by Trump’s threats of intervention in the event of a harsh crackdown. They put their quite capable air defense forces on high alert, threatened retaliation, and cracked down hard on the ” moderate rebels .” Now, Trump seems to be considering using only ” non-military ” options against ” the regime ,” possibly in light of the demonstrative activation of the modernized and improved air defenses.
