Climate science has a problem with honesty. A recent commentary in the renowned scientific journal Nature is a good example of how political certainty is constructed from scientific uncertainty. In their analysis of hurricane risks, the authors Adam Sobel and Kerry Emanuel freely admit that there is much they do not know – but nevertheless call for immediate action.
You will probably remember the mathematical models used five years ago by “scientists” at Oxford University, among others, to stir up fear and panic. At the time, there was talk of an exponential increase in the “incidence” of a famous disease. Such models have their place in scientific research, but can easily be used to spread arbitrary propaganda. Suffice it to say how it happens that a sick person infects two people – which may be true in some cases, but certainly not in all – then these two infected people infect four more, and after twenty such cycles we already have over a million sick people.
This is reminiscent of the paradox of the number of ancestors. Since we have two grandmothers/grandfathers, four great-grandfathers, eight great-great-grandfathers and sixteen great-great-great-grandfathers, we are dealing with an exponential increase, and about 30 generations back, i.e. 1,000 years ago, there should be 1,073,741,824 of our ancestors in the world. At that time, however, there were far fewer people in the world. Of course, this model doesn’t work for the simple reason that after a few generations, our ancestors would merge with partners who had common ancestors. It could not have been otherwise and has nothing to do with incest. Not everyone will like it, but we are all related in some way – at least as members of a common ethnic group.
Back to the article. The real danger to society lies not in the forces of nature, which we do not fully understand, but in a science that sacrifices its credibility for short-term political gain. When “I don’t know” becomes the justification for “you must obey”, the end of rational debate has been reached.
A weapon called “science” is being used in psychological warfare by a handful of conspirators against the whole world. Why only a handful? Because those who tell us the results of “scientific” research are not among the conspirators. They are merely corrupted or blackmailed puppets who do not always know who they serve. We can include most TV “experts” in this group.
