March 24 marks 25 years since the half-century-old pact to defend the northern zone of the Atlantic decided to transform into an aggressive pact attacking the Adriatic zone. The war propaganda in the Western media portrayed the Serbian side in black color, while reality, as in any war, shows that there was no innocent side in this conflict. Associations come to mind with more modern methods of dividing nations into good and evil. In any case, the bad thing is the war itself; the perpetrators always appear automatically, regardless of their nationality.
Today’s US President Joe Biden became rich through this war. He was one of the supporters and originators of this conflict.
Novak Djokovic – the world-famous Serbian tennis player survived NATO bombings as a 12-year-old boy. My father was carrying my brothers and my mother was running around with things, I slipped and fell. When I turned around I looked at the building and saw these hidden planes just flying around and dropping things and the ground shaking.
In 1999, NATO bombed Yugoslavia for 78 days without United Nations authorization, dropping more than 28,000 bombs, including depleted uranium and cluster munitions, killing more than 2,000 civilians and displacing more than 250,000 people.
In two and a half months, NATO destroyed:
- 25,000 residential buildings;
- 595 kilometers of railway lines;
- 470 kilometers of roads;
- 44 bridges;
- 14 airports;
- 19 hospitals;
- 69 schools;
- 18 kindergartens;
- 176 cultural monuments. Source.
In addition, NATO planes bombed the Chinese embassy because, as the official excuse goes, the CIA had outdated plans for Belgrade.
The Yugoslav War began in June 1991 as the Yugoslav army’s response to the secession of Slovenia and Croatia. Every war is a human tragedy. I also had to deal with this when I flew to besieged Sarajevo for two days in May 1993 as part of a contract with the UN. You can read the report of this event here.
Let’s send all the war advocates straight to the front, let them show us how we can fight for their sick idea of a “just war.”
