An internal document from mainstream German television ARD on media censorship recommendations related to the war in the Middle East has been leaked. This allows us to gain insight into the principles and goals of media manipulation. Source.
Such nuances as the use of the phrase “terrorist attacks on Israel” instead of the word “war” are one of many elements of this manipulation. The document recommends the use of phrases such as “war against Israel,” but limits the use of the terms “spiral of violence” or “Hamas militants.” They seem to be just words, but they are words that create an atmosphere of threat to poor, innocent Israel from ruthless Palestinian terrorists.
It is obvious that neither side of the conflict is white and the other is black. This has never been the case. Innocent people always suffer in war. There is no pure weapon that only kills heavily armed opponents. Although such killings are also murder, the media readily uses the argument of self-defense, even when someone out of necessity uses a cannon to kill a fly.
The Israeli army attacks Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. This is the official justification for Israel’s murder of civilians in this most populated area. In such a situation, the guide recommends mentioning that Hamas treats Palestinians as a shield for its fighters. This is reminiscent of the situation in Ukraine, where Russia was accused of killing civilians while Azov troops were stationed near hospitals and apartment blocks. In the case of Hamas, that organization relies on the support of the Palestinian population, and if that were true, it would quickly lose that support.
