Another installment in the Homo series… Today we’re talking about the semi-intelligent, most common Homo sapiens, for whom the adjective sapiens was only used so as not to insult him. It’s very easy to insult him – just throw in a logical sentence.

What a beautiful world it would be if there were no alarm clocks. My alarm clock is a particularly nasty one; it has just started brutally waking me up for work. Switching it off only helps for a short time. The shrill noise starts again straight away, just so my wife doesn’t wake up, otherwise I’m screwed and have been since the morning. I eat breakfast and coffee, occupy the bathroom briefly and leave the house.
I meet Karol on the streetcar. His face is just as angry as mine. He had an argument with his wife this morning. She was shouting louder than the alarm clock. He doesn’t even know what she was shouting about. That’s how they are, they’re loud. I comforted Karol and promised a beer outing together after work. After all, we deserve something from this life.

Beer is cheap and we have soccer.
An intellectual shouted on the streetcar: “A Russian drone is flying, take cover!” What a joker! Putin will come along and see what there is to make fun of. Yesterday the newspapers said …
Not good! I found a note on my desk from a secretary telling me to report to my boss at 8 o’clock. So I’m going to be called straight to the carpet? I wonder what for? Maybe it’s about yesterday’s argument with Christina? The cheeky woman tried to shout me down with some nonsense. It was all about those wretched drones, that it was all nonsense and that they wanted to drag us into a war. How could she have been so stupid? If Europe had stood up to Hitler in the mid-1930s, there wouldn’t have been a Second World War. It’s all because she watches some subversive videos on YouTube. Since they incessantly repeat on TV that Russia is the biggest threat, it can’t be any other way.

The conversation with the boss was actually interesting. Yes, he alluded to the dispute, but he was on my side. He said he was in contact with the lawyer and they were looking for reasons to fire her. There must be a valid reason for him not to be accused of politically oppressing the workers. He casually asked me to keep him in the loop if others were preaching similar heresies. I promised him that I would be vigilant.

Galileo Galilei.
The best part of today was a conversation with Karol over a beer. We both came to the conclusion that people are simply stupid. They tell made-up stories instead of relying on reliable sources like we did: the TV news.
